RAHN RAMEY HEADLINES RIVIERA COMEDY CLUB APRIL 5 - 11

After a dismal attempt at a career in law, Rahn thought, if they are going to laugh, why not charge a cover? In addition to a successful comedy career, Rahn has appeared in the films Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Escape from New York as well as on HBO’s “Comedy Central.” He has opened for B.B. King, Al Jarreau and Randy Travis.

Vinnie Mark’s best trick is to change traditional magic into non-stop laughs before your very eyes. Mark delivers joke after joke, gag after gag, and has the audience on their feet with a real live straightjacket escape. Las Vegas slick and Sunday school proper, alchemist Mark transforms audience participation, one-liners and a few surprises into pure platinum.

Kellen Erskine, like a syringe, is clean, sharp and addictive. He has worked with John Heffron (winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing) and Norm MacDonald (Saturday Night Live). Kellen was also a finalist in the 2007 San Francisco International Comedy Competition, and the winner of the 2009 Bay Area Laugh Leader, which was held at the historic Purple Onion. Kellen has toured numerous clubs in California including The Improv in Hollywood, Punchlines in San Francisco and The Planet in Monterey.

Show times for the Riviera Comedy Club are 8:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $24.99 plus tax and fee. Ask about our dinner/show combinations. For more information call the Riviera Box Office at 877-892-7469, or go to www.rivierahotel.com. All guests must be at least 18 years of age.

Doing Las Vegas at the Riviera

This article recently appeared in the Bus Tour Magazine. The Riviera Hotel & Casino would like to thank the Bus Tours Magazine and Larry Plachno.

Others may have an interest in the entertainment side of the city. Numerous people look upon Las Vegas as a place to find interesting restaurants. In addition, there are also the people who like to go to Las Vegas to enjoy the weather, sit around a pool, and visit gift shops. How do you keep everyone in your group happy? The answer is the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The Riviera is located right on the “Strip” and is a well-known tradition in Las Vegas. Situated on the north end of Las Vegas Boulevard, the Riviera has the unique ability to combine the classic style of downtown Las Vegas with the modern day resorts located further south. It is a resort in the true sense with virtually everything your group is looking for located all in one complex right on the Strip.
Those tour patrons looking for gaming will not be disappointed. The Riviera’s huge casino is located right on the Strip and occupies more than 100,000 square feet. Casino games include Poker, Craps, Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat, Let It Ride and Slots including Megabucks.

With more than 50 years of providing entertainment, the Riviera was instrumental in getting Las Vegas known as the Entertainment Capital of the World. The Riviera is so highly regarded that it has hosted two well known movies, the 1961 classic “Oceans 11” and Martin Scorsee’s “Casino.” Today, the Rivera continues to offer live stage shows. These currently include the sexy “Crazy Girls,” the nationally known “Riviera Comedy Club,” the “Le Bistro Theater” which features various shows including a hypnotist and musical shows.

A wide range of meal alternatives are available without leaving the Riviera. Those looking for something simple can stop at the snack bar which is located at the convention center entrance. Also in this category is the Mardi Gras Food Court which is located at the south end of the casino. The World’s Fare Buffet is extremely popular because it offers foods from different countries as well as conventional American cuisine. Kady’s Coffee Shop and the Banana Leaf with its Asian Cuisine are located right off the casino. Finer dining is available at Kristofer’s Steak House.
Looking for relaxation? A magnificent heated outdoor pool is located in the center of the Riviera complex. Several gift shops and stores are located right on the premises. Other on site features include the Achilles Spa and Sauna and a beauty shop. There is a shop for kids, a Pearl Factory, a chocolate shop, and a shop for leather and luggage. There even is a Wedding Chapel in the complex. A short walk down the street will bring you to other gift shops and even a Walgreens store.

The Riviera has more than 2,000 guest rooms. They are located in five different towers, many with views of exciting Las Vegas or overlooking the pool. While there are outside walkways near the pool, all of the buildings are interconnected with enclosed areas and passageways so there is no need to go outside in the unlikely event of questionable weather.
Groups are always welcome at the Riviera. The group entrance is located in the South Lobby where coaches can drop off and load groups in an off-street location. Motor coach parking is available adjacent to the complex. For more information contact Laurie DiGrandi at (702) 794-9305 for information on booking your group into the Riviera.
