My recent visit to the Riv

I just returned from a trip to the Riv(3/4-3/7) and wanted to comment on it. I have been coming to the Riv for 25 years. Even though LV is going through some tough times, I (and my mother-in-law --a 1st time visitor) had one of the best times ever! I probably spent 90% of my time at the tables and had a wonderful time with the group that frequented the Let It Ride and 3Card Poker tables. The visit kicked off very positively with a gift basket in my room from Dean Musillo, my designated host. He made all the arrangements for the trip and did a great job. My guest was so impressed! Jim Carrabis, while not my designated host, took care of us while we were at the tables and we found him to be very thoughtful, generous and entertaining. The Pit Bosses were excellent and outgoing especially Denny and Paul. They are some of the most efficient and friendliest in Vegas! I personally cnt stand the stuffy folks at many other casinos. The dealers were extremely friendly and entertaining and even managed to deal some pretty cool hands! While I can't recall all the "nice dealers" I had, the ones that are easy to remember are Coline, Sandy, Joe and Joe, Enrico, Bruce, Yang, Pat, Ginger, Micky, Katy, Al and Holly. I especially found Coline, Bruce and the Joes to be too funny!! Each of these individuals is an absolute asset to the Riv! I also want to commend 2 others individuals.....Taryn is the most outgoing waitperson for this trip. She is so attentive and fun to deal with! I also wanted to mention that each day you had some afternoon floor entertainment that really makes the casino experience more enjoyable. Each did a great job but I, and the others at the table with me, really enjoyed Mark. He was Awesome! As I said, I continue to come to the Riv because your folks do an excellent job. But this time, the staff reaaly stood out! I always recommend the Riv to everyone and will continue to do so. I wish you all luck during these trying times and look forward to my next visit in a few months. Thanks again for a great time!! Regards, Mary

QUEEN VICTORIA’S BRITISH PUB OPENS JUNE 28

Queen Victoria’s British Pub will welcome guests on June 28 for pints, footy and bangers as we celebrate the 173 anniversary of Queen Victoria’s coronation. The 7,000 square foot venue located in the Riviera’s casino offers diners a true British experience including a tavern-style dining room, a private dining room and two bars. Former Cult drummer Les Warner will book talent in to the pub’s London Underground Stage.

Queen Victoria’s British Pub in Las Vegas is the creation of British owners Chef Mark McGarry, tattoo studio designer Nick Elliot and master London butcher Nick Jones. McGarry says the 24-hour pub/gastropub hybrid menu will satisfy the cravings for English-style steak pie, sausage rolls and breakfast. “The food is where it’s going to be most authentic,” he says.

The pub will host live bands, televise all European and British sports schedules including this year’s World Cup Soccer, and offer special discounts to Queen Victoria’s Pub members. Attire is casual and the pub will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and coffee and drink specialties daily.

‘NEVADA ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR’
OPENS AT THE RIVIERA HOTEL AND CASINO

MASTER MUSICAL IMPRESSIONIST
FINDS A NEW HOME IN LAS VEGAS FOR
“GREG LONDON’S ICONS – ENTERTAINING THE WORLD
ONE IMPRESSION AT A TIME”

Following His Record Breaking Two And A Half
Year Run At Harrah’s Reno, London Begins Previews
Of His Critically Acclaimed Hit Show In The Mardi Gras
Showroom June 17, With the Grand Opening
Set For Mid-July

You thought Las Vegas’ biggest coup was Garth Brooks signing on for acoustic weekends at the Wynn? Hardly. He is certainly terrific but—the country legend is just one guy!

Greg London is coming to town with scores of pop culture “ICONS,” all channeled by the master musical impressionist himself, ready to reshape the city’s entertainment landscape.

Following his record shattering two and a half year run in Sammy’s Showroom at Harrah’s Reno, the multi-talented performer—voted Nevada Magazine’s 2009 Entertainer of the Year in a reader’s poll—brings his critically acclaimed show “Greg London’s ICONS - Entertaining the World One Impression at a Time” to The Riviera Hotel and Casino, located on The Strip at 2901 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Produced by Bob Byers, Jr., David DeLorenzo and Frank Visco, “Greg London’s ICONS,” which was also voted Best Show in Northern Nevada in the same Nevada Magazine poll, will begin previews in the Mardi Gras Showroom on Wednesday, June 16, with the Grand Opening set for mid-July. Showtimes will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ticket prices are $39.99, $59.99 (preferred seating) and $69.99 (VIP). All prices are base plus tax and fee. For more information, call The Riviera Box Office toll free at (877) 892-7469 or visit www.rivierahotel.com.

Thankful for what they do, London says, the first 100 active members of the military, police, firefighters and first responders will be admitted free to each show through July with proper ID showing their active service presented at the Riviera box office.

Greg London will grace the stage at the same world famous venue where numerous superstars and Las Vegas legends have performed such as Louis Armstrong, The Beach Boys, Tony Bennett, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Engelbert Humperdink, Liberace, Barry Manilow, Dean Martin, Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton, Luciano Pavarotti, Kenny Rogers, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, The Supremes and The Temptations, some of who London impersonates in his show.

Among the “ICONS” that are part of London’s fascinating repertoire are Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Tina Turner , Ray Charles, Sammy Davis, Jr., Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, Macy Gray , Tony Bennett, David Cassidy, Dean Martin, David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks of The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Freddie Mercury/Queen, Barry Manilow, Elton John, Joe Cocker, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Jim Morrison of the Doors, ZZ Top, David Bowie, Axl Rose, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Robin Gibb of The Bee Gees, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, Tom Jones, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ozzy Osbourne, Kermit The Frog, James Bond (Sean Connery version), Austin Powers and the “Phantom of the Opera.”

Fresh off his win for “Best Adult Contemporary Song” at the 2009 Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA), London has been selected to co-host the third annual event at The Highlands in the Hollywood & Highland Kodak Theatre Complex on November 18, 2010. The singer’s recording of “Everything I Own” was the highest charting new artist release and highest charting release on an independent label (airplay charts) of 2009. London scored back to back Top 5 singles on the FMQB Adult Contemporary Radio Chart. London also made Music Connection Magazine’s list of Hot 100 Artists of 2009.

In 2008, he appeared in the independent film “The Dukes,” playing a member of a washed up doo-wop group that turns, comically, to a life of crime. His cohorts are Chazz Palmenteri, two time Academy Award nominee Peter Bogdanovich and renowned character actor Robert Davi (“Die Hard,” “Profiler”), who wrote, directed and co-produced the film.

London, who launched his live musical comedy performance career in various venues at the Pebble Beach resort, even made Clint Eastwood’s day. Dirty Harry himself says of this million dollar baby, “Greg will leave you emotionally charged with a truly great performance.”

JOHN DICROSTA HEADLINES RIVIERA COMEDY CLUB JUNE 14 - 20

Stand-up comedians John DiCrosta, Sean Corvelle and Bob Larson will share the Riviera Comedy Club stage the week of June 14 – 20, 2010.

Headliner John DiCrosta is anything but boring. Dozens of voices, off-beat impressions, topical humor, sight gags, a few props, and sometimes even ventriloquism are among the tricks this comedian has up his sleeve.

DiCrosta has been seen on "Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher," "The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilbourn," "America's Funniest Home Videos" and more.

Appearing on stage with DiCrosta will be comedian Sean Corvelle. Corvelle performs in clubs across the country and has opened for famed acts such as Barry White, Kenny G, Al Jareau, The Four Tops, The Temptations, James Brown and Little Richard.

Also appearing on the Riviera Comedy club stage this week will be Bob Larsen. Larson is a full-time comic, traveling the country and headlining Las Vegas shows.

Show times for the Riviera Comedy Club are 8:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $24.99 plus tax and fee. Ask about our dinner/show combinations. For more information call the Riviera Box Office at 877-892-7469, or go to www.rivierahotel.com. All guests must be at least 18 years of age.
